Q: What is your worship service like?

A: We have our service on Sunday morning at 9 a.m.  Our service is traditional with an organist, pianist, hymn singing, and adult choir.  Special music frequently includes our hand bell choir, children's choir, as well as soloists and ensembles. 

Q: What is a basic overview of the United Methodist faith?

A:  As United Methodist's we believe in the Holy Trinity, which means that we believe that God exists in three forms, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and that all these forms are the one true and eternal God.  We believe that Jesus was the Son of God and came to Earth as fully human and fully God.  Jesus lived an absolutely perfect life that we should all strive to achieve.  We believe that Jesus died on the cross and was truly raised again from the dead.

We also believe in the Holy Bible as being the inspired word of God, and that it contains all the knowledge necessary to receive salvation through Jesus Christ.  The Bible is the center of our knowledge of Christian history.  Both the Old and the New Testaments are relevant in our daily lives and can teach us valuable lessons.

Q: What activities do you have for children in your church?

A: We have a very active children's ministry.  After the children's moments in our service, the children can go worship and sing in their very own Children's church!  This is an exciting ministry in our church.  Our children's choir is also a huge hit in service and it is always a treat to get to hear them.

We also have CBYF which is our children's fellowship group.  They get together to watch movies, sing, and of course eat.

Q: What activities do you have for adults in your church?

A: The adult Sunday School program is very active in our church.  Many of the those groups get together on their own outside of church and fellowship together.  We have many areas to serve for our adults as well.  As always the best way to get the most out of your Christian life is to help others, and we have many opportunities to do that!

Q: Where is your church located?

A: Our church is located at 1500 Pine St in Murphysboro, IL.  It is 1 block north of Walnut St on 15th St.  Here is a link for a map.  There is a large parking lot behind the church or you can park on the street.  We take up the whole block, so just park where you want.
